Hi my name is Scott Murrells, this blog is about me and my sculpture, hope you enjoy.
Scott Murrells Sculpture
After finishing high school I enrolled at college to study fine art, however an oportunity of an apprenticeship in Engineering Patternmaking was offered, it was paying a wage, so i took it up.
Within this trade I went on to hone my skills in the use of a wide variety of mediums, from timbers and plastics, plasters and fibreglass, metal fabrication and machining, mold making and casting. All this to satisfy the requirements of the design and manufacturing industry both in Australia and around the globe.
My later years were spent working for the automotive industry for companies such as General motors, Ford and Daewoo. Here I was employed as an automotive claymodeller/ sculptor producing interior and exterior scale and full size models of cars.
Throughout this journey I learned the importance of good design, good aesthetic. form and the balance of proportion.
Today i am enjoying being a sculptor drawing on my experiences and creating sculpture that brings me joy, satisfaction and mostly having fun.
